W.Media Asia Pacific Cloud & Datacenter Awards 2021 nomination closes with more than 200 entries

The year 2021 can be defined as a year when businesses are putting in place strategies that can help them thrive in the ‘New Normal’.

Every business, from across sectors, is now embracing ‘digital’ as the accepted norm. Corporations around the world are rethinking how to reach and serve customers, build reliable supply chains, ensure employee productivity and drive the sustainability agenda.

The inaugural W.Media Asia Pacific Cloud & Datacenter Awards nominations had all the key ingredients, such as innovation, flexibility, speed-to-market – hardwired into all the entries.

The Asia Pacific Cloud & Datacenter Awards, which is one of a kind in the region, honours the Herculean efforts put in by companies, as well as thought leaders, in ensuring that our daily lives continue in a streamlined manner.

The Awards saw more than 200 excellent entries. The entries spanned a dozen categories with a wide representation of companies in the APAC region. The most active region was Southeast Asia with all 15 categories being contested.

Southeast Asia Tech landscape

Southeast Asia has seen some of the most dramatic and rapid developments in the cloud and IT space over the past 18 months. Singapore holds onto its title as the region’s premiere datacenter hub.

Having led the industry in APAC for over a decade, the market is pivoting towards efficiency and sustainability. Singapore’s reliable power grid, coupled with skilled personnel have proved to be overwhelmingly attractive against space scarcity concerns.

On the other hand, Indonesia is a rising star. Data Centers in Jakarta alone are set to witness a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21.8 per cent in the years 2019-2024 , the highest for any city in Southeast Asia, according to Cushman & Wakefield Datacenter Report 2019.

Southeast Asia is followed by Northeast Asia and SA with 14 categories each being contested for. Australasia will see contest in 6 categories.

Sustainability is emerging as one of the most important areas in doing business and our partner Socomec is lending its complete weight behind this initiative.

“Socomec is a leader in innovative power solutions and has always kept environmental commitments central to its mission. We are excited to be part of the W.Media Awards, which support innovation and sustainability throughout the industry, and look forward to congratulating and celebrating with the winners this December,” stated Andy Ng, General Manager Singapore, Socomec.
